Undervalue your finance functions at your peril...

There are infinite reasons why your accounting and finance team is important to your business. If you work in finance, you already know that the following 3 points are barely scratching the surface.

1. Accounting communicates SO much to senior members of the business. Managers can only measure the success of a business by looking at the figures; that's the simple truth, the bottom line is where they look to see how the business is doing. 

2. At a time when the rest of the business is in flux, the numbers give the business a direction; they can be used to analyse trends and make sure that different teams are in the best shape possible with realistic but helpful targets. 

3. Numbers are just the beginning; if you want your business to grow you need investors to believe that you're a worthwhile cause. You may have an amazing marketing team that can put together an enticing proposal for a future investor, but without an accountant that can help that marketing team to interpret the numbers; your plan is inherently flawed.
