About the Role
Harper May is working with a London-based technology company that has built a strong platform serving enterprise customers across multiple sectors. The business is founder-led, well-funded by institutional investors, and has achieved meaningful scale over the past three years. The leadership team is now strengthening the finance function to support operational maturity, investor governance, and the next phase of international expansion.
The Role
You will report to the CEO and partner with the executive team to shape financial strategy and operational rigour. This is a blend of strategic direction-setting and hands-on execution: building financial infrastructure, managing relationships with investors and auditors, and translating company performance into clear insight for decision-makers.
- Own the financial planning cycle, including annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and scenario modelling
- Build and lead the finance team, creating scalable processes and capability to support growth
- Manage working capital, banking relationships, and funding requirements across the business
- Drive financial governance, controls, and reporting frameworks that satisfy investor and audit requirements
- Work closely with commercial leadership to understand unit economics, pricing, and customer profitability
- Prepare financial and narrative reporting for the Board and external stakeholders
- Lead statutory accounting, tax strategy, and compliance with relevant standards
What we are looking for
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with senior finance experience in a scaled technology or software business
- Proven track record in investor-backed or venture-backed environments, with comfort navigating Board-level conversations
- Strong commercial instinct and experience translating financial data into business strategy
- Hands-on technical ability across consolidation, GAAP reporting, and financial analysis
- Leadership capability: comfortable recruiting, developing, and motivating a growing finance team
- Clear communicator who can distil complexity for both finance and non-finance audiences
