Meet Our Recruiter
About the Role
Harper May is working with a founder-led media and events business that operates across live conferences, digital content, and sponsorship partnerships. The company has grown steadily over the past five years and now manages a portfolio of recurring and one-off events with a strong client base across Europe. They are now strengthening their finance function to support the next phase of growth, and seeking an FP&A Manager to build forecasting capability and commercial reporting across the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own financial planning and analysis for the business, translating event data and commercial activity into forward-looking forecasts and variance analysis. The role sits at the heart of how the business makes decisions - your reporting will inform event planning, partnership strategy, and resource allocation across a dynamic, project-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain rolling forecasts for revenue, costs, and cash flow across multiple concurrent events and initiatives
- Produce monthly variance analysis and bridge reporting, identifying trends and flagging risks early
- Partner with operations and commercial teams to model event economics and deal profitability before and after delivery
- Develop and own the annual budget process, working with department heads to build realistic and achievable plans
- Create bespoke reporting packs for board and investor review, translating complex activity into clear commercial narratives
- Refine forecasting methodology and reporting frequency as the business scales and new product lines emerge
What we are looking for
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or equivalent demonstrable FP&A experience
- Previous exposure to media, events, professional services, or other project-driven sectors
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems; experience with forecasting tools or BI platforms a plus
- Commercial mindset - able to explain financial complexity to non-finance stakeholders without jargon
- Comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial setting
