Finance Director

Harper May is working with a founder-led financial services business that has scaled significantly over the past five years and now operates across multiple markets. The organisation is maturing its infrastructure and sharpening its financial discipline as it prepares for the next phase of growth. They are now seeking a Finance Director to build robust financial systems, lead strategic planning, and provide the senior financial leadership the Board requires.

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Finance Director will own the full finance function, from strategy and planning through to compliance and stakeholder reporting. You will work across the business to embed strong financial controls, shape capital allocation decisions, and deliver the financial insight that drives confident decision-making. This is a hands-on role that balances technical rigour with commercial awareness in a fast-moving environment.

• Develop and execute the financial strategy in support of business growth and market expansion
• Establish and maintain financial controls, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance protocols
• Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and working capital management across the group
• Lead statutory and management reporting; manage the audit process and external relationships
• Build and lead a high-performing finance team, setting standards for technical capability and delivery
• Provide clear financial advice to the CEO and Board, challenging assumptions and surfacing risk

What we are looking for

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
• Proven experience as Finance Director or equivalent senior role within financial services
• Strong command of financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and audit processes
• Track record of building finance teams and embedding control frameworks
• Able to communicate financial strategy clearly to Board-level and non-finance stakeholders
• Commercial mindset with genuine interest in business operations, not just the numbers
