About the Role

Harper May is working with a London-based SaaS business backed by growth equity investors. The company serves mid-market enterprise clients across verticals, with ARR in the £15-20m range and a target to double within 18 months. The finance function is lean, and the leadership team recognises that better visibility into margin expansion, customer profitability, and cash flow forecasting will be critical as they scale. They are now seeking a Finance Analyst to build rigour around financial planning and operational reporting.

The Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will own financial analysis and insight that drives capital allocation decisions across the business. You'll work across customer success, engineering, and sales, translating transactional data into clear narrative about unit economics, cohort performance, and run-rate sustainability. The role sits at the intersection of operations and strategy, balancing accuracy with speed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and own monthly management accounts, including variance commentary and trend analysis
  • Develop cohort-based revenue analysis and customer lifetime value models to guide go-to-market decisions
  • Create rolling forecasts and scenario models to evaluate pricing changes, cost initiatives, and hiring plans
  • Support cash flow planning and working capital management as the business scales
  • Analyse churn, expansion, and customer acquisition metrics to help commercial teams refine strategy
  • Maintain master schedules and bridge key P&L and balance sheet movements to external reporting
  • Build dashboards and automate routine reporting to free capacity for strategic work

What we are looking for

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified or part-qualified; or relevant experience in a financial analyst or controller support role
  • Demonstrable experience in SaaS, software, or subscription-based business models
  • Proficiency in Excel, including scenario modelling and data manipulation; familiarity with SQL or Python is a plus
  • Ability to translate complex data into accessible insights for non-finance audiences
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to challenge assumptions in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with an eye for detail and narrative clarity
