About the Role

Harper May is working with a B2B SaaS business in London that has built a strong product-market fit and is now scaling its customer base and operations. Founded five years ago and backed by institutional investors, the business has grown to around 80 staff and is moving from startup mode into a more disciplined operating cadence. With customer acquisition accelerating and new revenue streams emerging from platform expansion, the finance function is being strengthened to support that complexity. The business is now seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial planning, reporting, and business partnering across the organisation.

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own financial planning cycles, management accounts production, and commercial finance analysis. You will be the primary point of contact for operational and commercial teams, translating business requirements into financial insight and helping leadership make informed decisions about investment, headcount, and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly and quarterly close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and management reporting with commentary
  • Build and own the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes across all business functions
  • Analyse customer acquisition costs, lifetime value, churn, and other key business metrics to support growth decisions
  • Partner with product, sales, and operations leaders to evaluate pricing strategy, headcount planning, and strategic investments
  • Develop financial models for scenario planning, margin analysis, and business case evaluation
  • Manage general ledger maintenance, payroll accruals, and tax provisions

What we are looking for

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or 4+ years of relevant finance experience in a growth-stage business
  • Exposure to SaaS, software, or subscription-based business models
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and accounting software; experience with Tableau or similar BI tools is an advantage
  • Ability to own processes end-to-end and work with incomplete information under time pressure
  • Confident communicator who builds credibility with non-finance colleagues and translates numbers into business context
