About the Role

Harper May is working with a founder-led technology business that has built a substantial SaaS platform serving the B2B enterprise market. The company is well-funded, operationally mature, and serving a growing customer base across Europe and North America. As the organisation moves toward its next phase-scaling sales infrastructure, expanding into new verticals, and preparing for external capital-the finance function needs reinforcement at leadership level. They are seeking a Head of Finance to drive financial rigour, build commercial capability, and support strategic decision-making.

The Role
You will report to the CEO and partner with the commercial and product leadership teams. The Head of Finance owns all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and analysis. This is a role that balances operational leadership-managing systems, controls, and a small team-with strategic input into pricing, customer economics, market expansion, and capital allocation decisions.

  • Own financial planning, forecasting, and monthly management reporting with clear commercial narrative
  • Build and maintain financial controls, audit readiness, and compliance with accounting standards
  • Lead analysis of customer unit economics, retention, and lifetime value to inform commercial strategy
  • Work with leadership on scenario planning, fundraising preparation, and investor communication
  • Manage the finance team and relationships with external advisers and auditors
  • Provide insight on product roadmap investment, market entry decisions, and operational spending

What we are looking for

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
  • Proven experience in a scaling technology or SaaS business, ideally in a finance leadership role
  • Strong grasp of SaaS metrics, subscription economics, and growth-stage financial management
  • Comfortable with strategic finance-comfortable advising on business decisions, not just reporting results
  • Track record managing small teams and building finance processes from the ground up
  • Collaborative mindset; ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
