About the Role

Harper May is working with a scaling SaaS business in the London technology sector. Founded five years ago by a team of former operators, the company has grown to around 80 staff and is backed by a mix of angel investors and early-stage venture capital. The business has moved beyond its initial product phase and is now operating multiple revenue streams across different customer segments. Visibility and rigour around unit economics, cash flow forecasting, and growth investment decisions have become critical as the board prepares for the next funding round. The business is now seeking a Finance Analyst to build depth in financial planning, analysis, and stakeholder reporting.

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Analyst will own weekly and monthly reporting, financial modelling, and ad-hoc analysis that informs product development, sales strategy, and operational investment decisions. You will work across engineering, product, and customer success teams, translating their needs into clear financial insight and building the analytical foundations the business needs as it scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain monthly management accounts, variance reports, and cash flow forecasts
  • Build financial models to evaluate product roadmap investment, pricing changes, and market expansion opportunities
  • Analyse customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, and cohort retention to guide product and commercial strategy
  • Support annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting cycles with scenario planning
  • Design and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that give stakeholders visibility of key metrics
  • Partner with operations on headcount planning, spend tracking, and efficiency initiatives

What we are looking for

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or part-qualified, or two to three years of relevant finance analysis experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a technology, subscription, or venture-backed environment
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; comfort with SQL or Python is a bonus
  • Ability to extract insight from data and explain it clearly to non-finance audiences
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
  • Commercially curious and genuinely interested in how the business makes money
