Finance Manager

Harper May is working with a founder-led consumer non-durables company based in London. The business manufactures and distributes branded household products across the UK and Northern Europe, with a portfolio that has grown steadily over the past five years. The finance function is now expanding to support the next phase of growth, and they are seeking a Finance Manager to join and strengthen their capability.

The Role
You will report to the Financial Controller and own the monthly management accounts cycle-P&L, balance sheet, cash flow forecasts, and KPIs. You will also lead continuous improvement of the reporting process, substantiate key balance sheet items, and ensure the control environment remains robust as the business scales. There is direct involvement in statutory year-end procedures and audit co-ordination.

• Prepare and deliver monthly consolidated management accounts and supporting narrative packs to leadership.
• Review and validate balance sheet accounts and intercompany transactions each month.
• Own the continuous improvement and documentation of the Group's accounting policies and procedures.
• Identify and implement enhancements to financial controls and the reporting infrastructure.
• Support the annual statutory audit process, including file preparation and timeline management.
• Maintain the technical accounting framework and provide guidance to operational teams on financial policy.

What we are looking for

• ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified (or equivalent relevant experience).
• Proven background in management accounting and consolidated reporting.
• Strong technical grounding in financial reporting, controls, and period-end procedures.
• Methodical approach to detail and problem-solving, with a genuine focus on control.
• Comfortable working in a growing, fast-moving business without excessive process overhead.
