Finance Analyst
Meet Our Recruiter
About the Role
Harper May is partnering with an established entertainment production company that creates content and experiences across multiple platforms. The business has grown significantly over the past three years through organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, and is now at a stage where it needs to strengthen its financial infrastructure. The leadership team is building out the finance function to support increased complexity in budgeting, project tracking, and cross-portfolio analysis. They are now seeking a Finance Analyst to join the team.
The Role
You will report to the Finance Manager and work across financial planning, commercial analytics, and performance reporting. The role exists because the business is scaling faster than its current processes can handle-there is real need for someone to help codify budgets, track project profitability, and surface trends that matter to decision-makers. You will have direct exposure to senior leadership and will influence how the business allocates resources and measures success.
- Maintain and develop financial models to forecast revenue, costs, and cash flow across production and distribution activities
- Support the annual budget cycle and quarterly reforecasting processes across departments
- Analyse project-level profitability and variance against plan, surfacing drivers and outliers
- Build and maintain management reporting dashboards and KPI tracking tools
- Work with operations and commercial teams to translate business questions into financial analysis
- Prepare ad hoc analysis to support acquisition evaluation, investment decisions, and strategic planning
What we are looking for
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification (part-qualified or qualified)
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, planning, or management accounting
- Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data visualisation
- Ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Interest in understanding business operations and asking sensible challenge questions
- Comfort working in a growing, evolving environment where process documentation may be incomplete
