About the Role

Harper May is partnering with a London-based entertainment group that operates production, distribution, and talent management across film, television, and digital content. The business has secured additional funding to strengthen its financial infrastructure and improve its capability to track profitability across multiple revenue streams and production pipelines. They are now recruiting a Finance Analyst to support this expansion.

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Analyst will be responsible for building financial models, maintaining management reporting, and providing commercial analysis to support decision-making across the production and business operations teams. This is a new addition to the finance function, created to free up senior capacity and embed better financial discipline across the group as it scales.

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis against budget and forecasts
  • Support annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes across all business units
  • Analyse revenue recognition, production costs, and overhead spend to identify commercial opportunities
  • Build and maintain performance dashboards and financial reports for leadership review
  • Work with production and commercial teams to validate financial assumptions and provide cost-benefit analysis on proposals
  • Assist with systems improvements, including data integration and automation of routine reporting

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, or management accounting within a commercial business environment
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modelling
  • Familiarity with P&L management, budgeting, and multi-department financial reporting
  • Clear communicator who can explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Methodical, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
