About the Role

Harper May is partnering with an independent entertainment company backed by established media investors. The business produces and distributes content across film, television, and digital platforms, and has grown steadily over the past five years through a combination of organic expansion and strategic acquisitions. The finance function is now being strengthened to support increased production activity, portfolio management, and investor reporting requirements. They are now seeking a Finance Analyst to join the team.

The Role
The Finance Analyst will report to the Head of Finance and provide analytical support across production accounting, commercial tracking, and corporate financial planning. This is a new position created to handle the increased complexity of financial management as the business scales, and offers genuine exposure to decision-making in a creative industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile production budgets and cost tracking for active projects
  • Prepare variance analysis and performance reports for management and stakeholders
  • Support quarterly financial reporting and management accounts preparation
  • Build and maintain financial models for project evaluation and scenario planning
  • Analyse revenue recognition, deal structures, and commercial contract financial terms
  • Develop KPI dashboards to monitor project profitability and cash flow
  • Assist with forecasting and investment appraisal for new production initiatives

What we are looking for

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and financial modelling
  • Experience with monthly accounts, budgeting, or management reporting
  • Comfortable working with cost accounting and P&L analysis
  • Clear communication skills and ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Organised, detail-oriented approach to process-driven work
