About the Role

Harper May is working with a founder-led SaaS business in the B2B software space. The company is currently scaling its customer base and product capabilities across Europe, having raised Series B funding within the last eighteen months. With revenue growing steadily and headcount expanding, the finance function has become a strategic priority. The business is now recruiting a Chief Financial Officer to build and lead its financial infrastructure.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will manage all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and control. This is a hands-on leadership position that demands both strategic thinking and operational rigour. You will partner with the founding team on capital allocation, commercial strategy, and the operational levers that drive unit economics and profitability.

  • Establish financial planning and forecasting processes that support monthly and quarterly performance review
  • Lead recruitment and development of the finance team, setting standards for technical quality and commercial awareness
  • Manage relationships with external investors, lenders, and advisors; coordinate fundraising or refinancing activity as required
  • Oversee monthly close, statutory compliance, and audit processes; ensure controls remain appropriate for the company's stage
  • Work with the executive team to model pricing strategies, customer acquisition economics, and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Build financial dashboards and reporting packs that surface key metrics and business health to the Board

What we are looking for

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
  • At least seven years in senior finance roles, ideally within technology, SaaS, or venture-backed companies
  • Demonstrable experience raising growth capital or managing investor relations
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and fluency with financial systems and data
  • Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial setting with limited infrastructure; able to prioritise and move quickly
  • Executive presence and the ability to communicate financial performance clearly to non-finance stakeholders
