About the Role
Harper May is working with a mid-sized asset management firm based in London. The firm manages funds across multiple strategies and operates under FCA regulation, with a client base of institutional and high-net-worth investors. The business has grown substantially over the past three years and is now strengthening its finance function to support expanded reporting requirements and enhanced management insight across its growing portfolio.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will own the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, supporting financial planning across investment and operational teams. The position sits at a pivotal point in the finance calendar-your analysis and reporting will directly inform senior leadership decisions on fund performance, cost allocation, and resource deployment.
- Produce monthly management accounts with clear variance reporting and narrative commentary for senior stakeholders
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes across the business
- Reconcile balance sheet items and validate the integrity of general ledger data
- Support preparation of regulatory financial statements and assist with external audit cycles
- Monitor and analyse operational expenses, identifying cost control opportunities
- Maintain cash flow forecasts and support working capital management
- Improve and document financial reporting procedures and internal control protocols
What we are looking for
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or actively progressing towards qualification
- Prior experience in asset management, funds administration, or a regulated financial services setting
- Solid grounding in management accounting, with demonstrated capability in producing financial statements
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools; strong numerical and analytical mindset
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance audiences
- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working to tight reporting deadlines
