FP&A Manager
Meet Our Recruiter
About the Role
Harper May is partnering with a growing financial services firm-founder-led, backed by strategic investment, and operating across wealth management and advisory. The business has scaled significantly over the past two years and is now moving into a new strategic phase that demands greater rigour around forecasting and margin transparency. Cost control and resource planning have become material to the board agenda. They are now seeking an FP&A Manager to build out their planning infrastructure and provide the data-driven insight their leadership team depends on.
The Role
You will report to the Group Finance Director and own the annual budget cycle, monthly forecasting, and ongoing performance analysis. You will be the primary analytical voice for the leadership team on cash flow, headcount, and profitability across the business. The role sits at the intersection of finance operations and strategic decision-making, with visibility across all senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute the annual budgeting process, including consolidation, variance tracking, and reforecasting
- Build and maintain financial models for monthly performance reporting and quarterly board submissions
- Analyse divisional and departmental profitability, identifying cost drivers and margin trends
- Produce month-end reporting packs with clear narrative insight on financial performance
- Support management with scenario modelling and business case analysis for strategic initiatives
- Improve forecasting accuracy through process refinement and better stakeholder engagement
- Manage ad hoc requests from the leadership team on cash, headcount, and investment scenarios
What we are looking for
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or equivalent FP&A track record in a professional services or financial services business
- 3-5 years of FP&A, management accounting, or commercial finance experience
- Competent financial modeller with experience building forecasts and variance reporting in Excel or similar tools
- Able to explain complex numbers clearly to non-finance stakeholders and senior management
- Comfortable with tight deadlines and the demands of a regulated environment
- Proactive problem-solver who improves process without waiting to be asked
