About the Role
Harper May is working with a founder-led technology company in the B2B SaaS space that has reached £15m ARR and is now scaling its operational infrastructure. Recent product launches and expanded customer acquisition have outpaced the finance function's capacity, and the business is now strengthening its financial control capability to support the next phase of growth.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller will own the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, the integrity of accounting records, and the design of robust control frameworks. You'll work directly with the executive team on performance analysis and cash forecasting, balancing compliance with the need for rapid, reliable insight in a dynamic environment.
- Take responsibility for the monthly close, including ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and preparation of management accounts
- Design and embed financial controls across the business, with particular focus on revenue, payroll, and procurement cycles
- Lead year-end audit preparation and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and working capital analysis to inform commercial decisions
- Build and supervise the finance team's day-to-day operations and development
- Create financial dashboards and reporting that translate data into actionable insight for leadership
What we are looking for
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification, or equivalent demonstrated experience at this level
- Proven track record as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager in a technology or fast-growth business
- Solid grounding in IFRS, revenue recognition standards, and statutory compliance
- Hands-on ability to lead close processes and drive process improvement without losing attention to detail
- Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Collaborative mindset and comfort with ambiguity in a scaling organisation
