About the Role
Harper May is working with an international, PE-backed B2B technology business that is appointing a Commercial Finance Manager on an initial six-month interim contract. The role carries a clear route into a permanent seat for the right person, based from the group's Stamford office three days a week.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Commercial Finance Manager will take ownership of the FP&A and commercial side of the finance function. The monthly close is produced by a Management Accountant, so this role sits above the detail: reviewing the numbers, challenging them, presenting them to the leadership team, and turning the data into insight the business can act on.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and present monthly management accounts to the leadership team
- Own the annual budget, rolling forecast and scenario modelling
- Lead variance analysis and translate the numbers into clear commercial insight
- Partner with the commercial team on pricing, customer profitability and new revenue lines
- Build and maintain commercial dashboards and KPI reporting
- Support board and investor reporting alongside the Head of Finance
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis to inform decision-making across the business
- Help strengthen reporting process and financial controls as the group scales
What we are looking for
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Strong commercial finance or FP&A background with the ability to review rather than prepare month-end
- Confident presenting financial information clearly to non-finance leaders
- Hands-on with modelling, variance analysis and scenario work
- Experience in a PE-backed, scale-up or international group is a plus; industry background is not critical
- Available on an interim basis with openness to converting to permanent
- Able to be in the Stamford office three days a week
