Finance Manager

Harper May is working with a consumer non-durables business headquartered in London. The company manufactures and distributes branded products across the UK and Europe, with a track record of steady growth and strong market position. Following recent operational expansion, the finance function is being strengthened, and they are now seeking a Finance Manager to join the team.

The Role
You will report to the Finance Director and take ownership of the monthly management accounts cycle. The role spans financial reporting, control environment design, and support to the year-end audit. You will work across a multi-entity structure and be responsible for ensuring that all financial data is accurate, timely, and meets internal and external requirements.

• Prepare monthly consolidated P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements with supporting analysis and commentary.
• Own the month-end close process, including reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany eliminations.
• Review and strengthen financial controls across the business; identify and action control gaps.
• Support the external audit process from planning through completion, ensuring tight deadlines and budgets are met.
• Maintain and develop the company's accounting policies and technical documentation.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support business decisions and performance tracking.

What we are looking for

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) or strong equivalent experience in a similar finance role.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, management reporting, and statutory compliance.
• Solid grasp of consolidation, intercompany transactions, and control design.
• Detail-oriented with a methodical approach to financial accuracy and compliance.
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets and finance systems; exposure to reporting tools preferred but not essential.
• Professional communicator who can work well with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
