About the Role

Harper May is working with a founder-led financial services group headquartered in London. The business manages specialist investment and advisory services across multiple asset classes, serving institutional and high-net-worth clients. Operating in a tightly regulated space, the firm has grown steadily over the past five years and is now scaling its back-office infrastructure to support expansion into new markets. The finance function is being strengthened to ensure robust governance and to free senior leadership from routine operational reporting. They are now seeking a Finance Manager to join the team.

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own the monthly close cycle, manage the general ledger, and ensure all financial reporting meets regulatory standards. You will act as the primary point of contact between finance and both internal stakeholders and external auditors, and will drive continuous improvement in processes and controls as the business grows.

  • Execute the month-end close process and produce timely management accounts and pack
  • Manage balance sheet accounts, perform reconciliations, and maintain a control environment aligned to regulatory expectations
  • Prepare and support the external audit, including statutory accounts and regulatory submissions
  • Own working capital management and cash forecasting
  • Lead budgeting and variance analysis to inform board-level discussions
  • Document and improve financial processes to reduce manual effort and strengthen control
  • Provide analytical support to the business on ad-hoc financial queries

What we are looking for

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or close to qualification)
  • At least three years' experience in a finance management role within financial services or a regulated sector
  • Solid technical accounting knowledge, with confidence in balance sheet accounting and statutory reporting
  • Hands-on experience leading month-end processes and working with external auditors
  • Commercial mindset and the ability to explain financial information to non-finance audiences
  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable juggling competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
