About the Role

Harper May is working with an established entertainment business that produces and distributes content across multiple platforms. The company has grown steadily over the past five years and is now in a phase of operational consolidation, with a focus on strengthening financial controls and deepening commercial insight across the business. They are now seeking a Management Accountant to join the finance team and take on a more hands-on role in month-end close and internal management reporting.

The Role
This is a core finance position, reporting to the Finance Director. You will own the monthly management accounts process, manage the general ledger, and produce the financial statements and variance analysis that guide the board and operational leadership. The role sits at the centre of the business-you will understand cash flow, production budgets, licensing revenue, and distribution economics, and you will need to communicate what those numbers mean.

  • Prepare and own the monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliation and P&L variance analysis
  • Manage the general ledger, month-end close, and accruals process
  • Build and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
  • Produce management reports and dashboards that track revenue, production spend, and operational KPIs
  • Support audit and tax compliance processes
  • Work with operations and production teams to track project and portfolio performance against budget

What we are looking for

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • 3+ years of experience in a management or corporate finance role
  • Strong technical skills in Excel, financial modelling, and accounting systems
  • Experience with month-end close and management accounts preparation
  • Clear communicator who can explain financial performance to non-finance stakeholders
  • Self-directed and comfortable owning end-to-end processes with minimal supervision
