About the Role

Harper May is working with a founder-led SaaS business in the enterprise software space. The company has achieved product-market fit, secured institutional backing, and is now moving into an accelerated growth phase across multiple geographies. With headcount scaling, new product lines launching, and increasing stakeholder complexity, the finance function needs strengthening at the top. The business is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial planning, investor relations, and the operational discipline that underpins sustainable scaling.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and the Board, you will own all aspects of financial leadership and serve as a trusted advisor on commercial decisions. This is a hands-on position combining strategic finance with direct involvement in systems, controls, and team development. You will shape how the business is measured, funded, and steered through its next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a financial strategy that balances growth investment with profitability and runway
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reporting, forecasting, and scenario modelling for the executive team and Board
  • Lead fundraising processes, investor management, and term-sheet negotiations
  • Establish financial controls, accounting policies, and reporting structures fit for a scaling SaaS operation
  • Drive working capital management, cash flow forecasting, and capital allocation decisions
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a growing finance team to deliver accuracy and insight
  • Partner with commercial and product teams on unit economics, pricing strategy, and go-to-market decisions

What we are looking for

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with 10+ years in senior finance roles
  • Proven experience in SaaS, software, or high-growth technology businesses
  • Strong track record in fundraising, investor relations, and working with institutional capital
  • Deep technical accounting skills combined with genuine commercial business sense
  • Team leadership experience and comfort operating at Board level
  • Fluency in financial modelling, systems implementation, and process design
