Chief Financial Officer
Meet Our Recruiter
About the Role
Harper May is working with a growth-stage financial services platform backed by institutional investors. The business has scaled substantially over the past three years, expanding its client base and product range across wealth management and advisory services. Following a recent leadership transition and significant market opportunity ahead, the organisation is now seeking a Chief Financial Officer to build and lead the finance function at a critical juncture.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Chief Financial Officer will own financial planning, reporting, risk management, and stakeholder relations across the business. - Build and lead the finance team from first principles, establishing systems, processes, and controls
- Develop and execute the financial strategy, including funding roadmap, profitability targets, and capital allocation
- Prepare statutory accounts, management accounts, and board-level reporting with accuracy and clarity
- Partner with the executive team on pricing, cost management, and margin optimisation
- Manage relationships with lenders, investors, and external auditors
- Establish robust financial governance and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
What we are looking for
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
- A minimum of seven years in senior finance roles, with meaningful experience in financial services or professional services
- Proven ability to build finance functions and embed systems in high-growth environments
- Comfort with ambiguity and the energy to move quickly whilst maintaining control
- Clear communicator with the credibility to influence the board and senior leadership
- Experience of working with institutional investors and managing stakeholder expectations
