Finance Director

In a regulated environment, finance carries two responsibilities at once. It needs to support growth, and it needs to protect the foundations that make growth sustainable. This well-established financial services organisation is strengthening its senior leadership team to deepen governance, sharpen performance insight, and support confident decision-making at executive level. They are now seeking a Finance Director to take ownership of financial strategy, control, and stakeholder engagement across the organisation.

The Role
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board, the Finance Director will lead the organisation’s financial strategy and provide oversight of financial operations, governance, and performance insight. The role combines strategic input with strong technical leadership, ensuring planning, reporting, and control frameworks remain robust within a regulated setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver the financial strategy aligned with business objectives

• Act as a key advisor to the CEO and Board, providing clear financial insight and challenge

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

• Ensure strong financial controls, governance, and risk management frameworks

• Lead statutory reporting, audit processes, and regulatory compliance

• Manage capital planning, liquidity, and balance sheet strength

• Oversee management reporting and performance analysis

• Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team

• Manage relationships with external auditors, regulators, and advisers

Candidate Profile

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified

• Senior finance leadership experience within financial services or a regulated environment

• Strong technical accounting and regulatory knowledge

• Proven ability to operate at Board and executive level

• Commercially minded with a strong control and governance focus

• Confident communicator with experience managing complex stakeholders
