This content and experiences business operates at the intersection of digital media, partnerships, and live events. With a growing portfolio of programming and a commercially diverse platform, the organisation continues to expand through new formats, collaborations, and channels. As scale and complexity increase, finance is playing a more central role in supporting performance, control, and confident decision-making. The business is now seeking a Finance Director to lead financial strategy and strengthen the finance function as growth continues.

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with senior stakeholders, the Finance Director will take ownership of the finance function and act as a key partner to the leadership team. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on oversight, supporting commercial performance across events and content activity while ensuring governance and control remain robust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial strategy, supporting sustainable growth across media, content, and events

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive, providing clear financial insight and constructive challenge

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across multiple revenue streams

  • Partner with operational and commercial teams on event profitability, pricing, and cost control

  • Oversee management reporting, financial analysis, and performance insight

  • Build and develop the finance team, embedding strong processes and accountability

  • Ensure robust financial controls, governance, and scalable reporting frameworks

  • Lead statutory reporting, audit processes, and compliance with accounting standards

  • Manage tax planning and ensure adherence to regulatory and statutory requirements

Candidate Profile

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified

  • Senior finance leadership experience within media, events, publishing, or project-led, consumer-facing businesses

  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance creative ambition and financial discipline

  • Confident communicator, comfortable operating at leadership and Board level

  • Proven experience leading finance teams in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

  • Hands-on approach with strong financial modelling and systems capability

  • Experience supporting multi-project or multi-revenue business models
