Financial Accountant

Harper May is collaborating with a dynamic media company and is currently seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join their team. They are a leading player in the media industry, renowned for their innovation and creativity in delivering compelling content.

As the Group Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence within the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support the production of monthly, quarterly and annual group financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop the group-level balance sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to external borrowings, and ensure their accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in the production of the monthly Group consolidation, working closely with other finance team members to gather and validate financial information.
• Contribute to various ad hoc financial reporting projects as and when required, providing support and analysis to facilitate decision-making processes.
• Support the management of the annual audit process, including preparing audit schedules, liaising with auditors, and addressing audit queries.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls and procedures to safeguard financial data and ensure data integrity.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and appreciation of general accounting
• Experience in group accounting function
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial reporting systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
