About the Role
Harper May is working with a growing, international B2B technology group under PE ownership that is hiring a Commercial Finance Manager on an initial six-month interim contract. The role carries a credible route into a permanent seat for the right person, based from the group's Stamford office three days a week.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Commercial Finance Manager will lead FP&A and commercial analysis for the group. A Management Accountant prepares the monthly close, so the role sits above the detail: reviewing the output, pressure-testing the numbers, presenting them to the leadership team and translating the data into insight that moves the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and present monthly management accounts to the leadership team
- Lead the annual budget, rolling forecast and scenario modelling
- Own variance analysis and the commercial narrative behind the numbers
- Partner with commercial leaders on pricing, customer profitability and new revenue lines
- Build and maintain commercial dashboards and KPI reporting
- Support board and investor-facing finance packs alongside the Head of Finance
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis to inform decision-making across the business
- Help strengthen reporting process and financial controls as the group scales
What we are looking for
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Strong commercial finance or FP&A background, comfortable reviewing rather than preparing month-end
- Confident presenting financial information clearly to non-finance leaders
- Hands-on with modelling, variance analysis and scenario work
- Experience in a PE-backed, scale-up or international group is a plus; industry background is not critical
- Available on an interim basis with openness to converting to permanent
- Able to be in the Stamford office three days a week
