About the Role
Chief Operating Officer – Financial Technology
Harper May is partnering with a financial technology business that is looking to appoint a Chief Operating Officer to help drive operational performance across the organisation. The company is focused on refining internal processes, improving efficiency, and building an operational platform that can support long-term business growth.
The Role
Working closely with the senior leadership team, the Chief Operating Officer will take responsibility for overseeing the operational running of the business. The role will centre on improving how the organisation functions day to day, ensuring teams, systems, and processes are aligned to support wider commercial objectives and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational activity across the business and drive day-to-day performance
- Review and enhance internal processes, systems, and workflows
- Support the delivery of strategic objectives through effective operational execution
- Build and improve operational structures to support scalability
- Track operational performance through clear reporting and performance measures
- Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency across departments
- Work closely with leadership to ensure operational priorities support business goals
- Encourage strong collaboration across operational, commercial, and support teams
- Maintain effective internal controls and operational standards
- Provide leadership with clear operational insight and recommendations
Candidate Profile
- Proven senior operational leadership experience within financial technology or a technology-led environment
- Strong background managing operations within regulated or complex businesses
- Experience developing and improving operational frameworks
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability
- Commercially minded with a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Experience leading cross-functional teams
- Able to balance strategic oversight with hands-on operational delivery
