About the Role
Harper May is partnering with a financial services business that is looking to appoint a Chief Operating Officer to support the ongoing development of its operational infrastructure. The Role
The Chief Operating Officer will play a central role in overseeing operational delivery across the business, working closely with senior leadership to ensure the organisation is running effectively. The position will focus on improving operational consistency, enhancing internal controls, and aligning day-to-day activity with wider commercial priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational performance across the organisation
- Review and improve internal processes, systems, and workflows
- Support the delivery of business objectives through effective operational execution
- Strengthen operational controls and internal frameworks across the business
- Develop reporting tools and performance measures to monitor operational effectiveness
- Identify and implement initiatives to improve efficiency and service delivery
- Work closely with senior leadership to support wider business priorities
- Coordinate activity across multiple teams and functions
- Lead and develop operational teams to ensure strong standards of delivery
- Contribute to broader organisational improvement and development initiatives
Candidate Profile
- Proven senior operational leadership experience within financial services
- Strong background managing operations in a regulated environment
- Experience improving internal processes and operational structures
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing teams across functions
- Good understanding of controls, risk, and operational performance
- Able to work closely with senior stakeholders and support business objectives
- Commercially aware with a practical and solutions-focused approach
