About the Role

Harper May is partnering with a pioneering AI company that is redefining the future of intelligent systems across sectors. As the business scales rapidly through innovation and commercial traction, they are seeking a strategic and commercially driven Chief Financial Officer to join the leadership team and steer financial performance during this critical phase of growth.

Role Overview:
The CFO will play a central role in shaping financial strategy, leading operational finance, and supporting future investment and expansion. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with investors and the board, this is a rare opportunity to influence direction at the highest level within a transformative technology business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead financial strategy, supporting the company’s growth and innovation goals

  • Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and controls

  • Support fundraising activities and maintain investor relationships, including preparation of board packs and investor updates

  • Build and scale finance processes, systems, and team capability to support rapid expansion

  • Provide strategic financial insights to inform pricing, product development, and international growth initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax obligations, and regulatory frameworks

  • Lead financial planning for commercial partnerships, licensing agreements, and R&D initiatives

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, tech, and commercial teams to align financial planning with strategic objectives

Key Requirements:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or equivalent

  • Proven success in a senior finance leadership role within a high-growth, tech-driven environment

  • Experience in fundraising, investor relations, and scaling finance operations

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive strategy across departments

  • Deep understanding of SaaS, IP-led, or AI-based business models is highly desirable

  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
