Job Description

Harper May are currently working with a rapidly expanding global Tech and Real Estate business. The company has gone through a series of acquisitions in the past 12 months and due to this growth require a new Tax Manager to grow a team.

Role & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the VP of Tax and Senior Director of Finance in the UK, the role prefers a post qualified tax professional (CTA, ACA, ACCA) looking to obtain further experience across tax both domestically and globally (e.g. corporate tax, indirect tax and transfer pricing). The individual will need to be able to work to applicable deadlines, to operate autonomously where required, and be comfortable working with both finance and non-finance staff.

Scope of role includes:

  • Statutory reporting
    • Calculate UK quarterly tax payments.
    • Preparation of UK statutory account tax disclosure notes.
    • Liaison with external advisors for the preparation of UK tax returns, to include review of foreign tax credits, CFC, capital gains and Corporate Interest Restriction.
    • Monitor pan-EU CIT filings and maintain overall EU compliance calendar
  • Group reporting
    • Quarterly tax provisioning and tax payments:
      • Coordinate calculations with outside advisors and provide initial review.
      • Where needed, prepare and arrange for estimated tax payments.
      • Review of international tax cash flow, funding requirements and certain corporate capital calculations
      • Calculation of UK tax provisions.
    • Transfer Pricing
      • Monitoring applicable BEPS / CBCR notification and filings requirements.
      • Assist, track and coordinate the preparation of the Transfer Pricing financial models.
      • Assistance in preparing / review of global master file and local country documentation
  • Indirect taxes
    • Maintenance and tracking of UK and EU indirect tax filings and coordination without local accounting team, outside advisors and Indirect Tax Manager in US
  • Internal controls
    • Assist with the relevant Sarbanes Oxley process documentation requirements.
    • Assistance on various US tax reporting requirements, including FIN 48, 5471 and FDII queries.
  • Other areas
  • Exposure to ad-hoc Permanent Establishment issues; M&A activity; and internal restructuring / rationalization initiatives. Dealing with revenue related queries from within the department, other departments and group subsidiaries.

Qualifications and experience:

  • 3 to 7 years' experience; Big 4 experience preferred but not required.
  • Post qualified tax professional (CTA, ACA, ACCA) preferred
  • Good Excel skills and aptitude with other software packages.
