Job Description

Harper May is currently working with PE Backed Utilities Services business who are looking for a Financial Controller to run the finance operations of their UK division. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end local finance function and will be a the primary point of contact for local operations business partners and global finance management.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting;
  • Prepare informational analyses on actual performance versus forecast, budget, prior period data, etc.;
  • Manage and oversee local operational finance functions such as invoicing, accounts payable, payroll processing, time entry compliance, and the like;
  • Manage outsourcing of work to global shared service team;
  • Lead process transformation initiatives;
  • Identify areas for cost reductions and operational improvements;
  • Provide analyses to local operations/delivery team;
  • Oversee all local tax and regulatory reporting including local statutory audits;
  • Cultivate working relationships with other local department heads;
  • Take ownership of various projects and delegate them to local finance staff;
  • Comfortable making presentations to management and leading meetings;
  • Supervise local finance staff and provide annual performance evaluations;

Key Requirements;

  • 5-7 years of experience in accounting and/or finance;
  • Prior management or supervisory experience in private industry;
  • Working knowledge of IFRS;
  • Some public accounting experience preferred;
  • Local accounting certification preferred;
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, management, accounting, business administration, or other relevant fields;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite;
  • Familiar with NetSuite
