Job Description

Harper May is currently working with a global, award-winning specialist provider of recruitment solutions across technology sectors. With headquarters in London the business is undergoing a period of rapid international growth which is expected to accelerate over the next 18 months. As part of their growth strategy, they are looking for an exceptional Finance Manager who is on an upward career trajectory and looking for a fresh challenge. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity as a result of recent growth and investment in the business, with turnover more than doubling in the last year and plans to accelerate this further through development of new revenue streams and continued international expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with CFO to transition agreed responsibilities from outsourced provider to 'in-house'
  • Own month end and financial reporting
  • Look at BI / reporting functionality to automate manual reporting
  • Establish financial processes for Contract Division including Pay & Bill / timesheet solutions as required
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations ensuring all items at month end are reconciled
  • Oversee HMRC returns, intermediaries report, VAT returns and other statutory returns required
  • Support monthly, quarterly forecasting and annual budget process as appropriate
  • Ensure tight cash management across the group, including overseas subsidiaries and bank finance
  • Establish basic policies and procedures (PO, Expenses etc.)
  • Work with advisors as appropriate and lead year-end audit
  • Assist with hiring and developing in-house team as the business grows (including internationally)
  • Other adhoc projects and responsibilities - this is an early-stage fast growth business, so this is not an exhaustive list

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised, with ability to meet tight deadlines and operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Good excel skills (Vlookup, Sumif, Pivot tables etc.)
  • Strong interest and ability with systems and technology
  • Continuous improvement mindset (processes, reporting etc.)
  • Able to collaborate and engage with sales teams and non-finance colleagues
  • Good levels of emotional intelligence
  • Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or possibly Finalist/QBE if they can demonstrate relevant experience
