Job Description

Harper May is exclusively working with a well-known music venue and events company based in the City. The company has experienced 50% year on year growth for the last 3 years and now has an international presence with events taking place in London, Ibiza and Prague. As a result of their tremendous growth rate, my client is searching for a Finance Manager to join their finance team in the London office. The successful candidate will work closely with the company founders, and department heads to drive the business forward and highlight key trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compiling the monthly management accounts - including monthly meetings with Group Financial Controller
  • Reconciling all bank accounts
  • Overseeing the processing of weekly supplier payments
  • Manage the day to day operations of F&B
  • Updating monthly event analysis spreadsheet on a regular basis - past, current and future events
  • Tracking restaurant performance
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Compiling information for yearend stat accounts - liaise with external accountants to produce the final documents
  • Assist with annual budget setting with Financial Controller
  • Ad hoc projects for management

Skills/Experience:

  • Effective communication skills especially when discussing financials with non finance personnel
  • ACCA/CIMA part qualified or qualified by experience
  • Proficient in Excel with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of using Xero accounting software for both accounting and payroll
  • Ability to work well in a small team and manage own time well
  • Ability to make continuous improvements to administrative processes
  • Experience working within the hospitality sector, specifically food
  • Someone with a hands-on, proactive approach; taking personal responsibility and initiative to prevent or resolve problems
  • Experience working within the arts sector would be advantageous
  • Experience of working with public and private subsidies for the arts is desirable
