Job Description

A rapidly growing renewable energy SME is looking for a Finance Director to work within their finance team. They specialise in developing renewable energy technology, to provide power to large residential areas. In their first 3 years since inception, they have grown to double the size and have raised a large amount of investment from angel investors and banks globally. They are currently turning over £15million and recent success has allowed them to start planning for new projects in the coming year. The role will be based at their London Head office in the City of London.

The Finance Director will have a position of extensive responsibility, offering guidance and overseeing the day-to-day running of the finance function whilst leading at a strategic level. The successful candidate will be fully qualified and must have prior renewable energy & SME experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading and developing the finance team
  • Business partnering closely with Managing Directors and other senior stakeholders
  • Creating detailed mid and long term financial models
  • Liaising with senior HR, I.T and facilities leaders
  • Developing new business opportunities
  • Implementing and improving first class systems and controls
  • Balance sheet forecasting, including cash flow forecasting
  • Full control of reporting and statutory compliance across the group
  • Review and monitoring of Group tax position, calculations and filings

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Must be fully qualified
  • Must have prior renewable energy & SME experience
  • Strong technical accounting skills are highly desirable
  • Highly motivated and pro-active self starter
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Previous experience of managing and developing staff
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent Excel skills
