Job Description

Harper May is currently working with one of the largest soft drink businesses in the UK. With a strong portfolio of it's own iconic brands as well as others the company has achieved year on year growth and now looks to expand into new territories as well. The ideal candidate for this role will be commercially minded with a number of years experience in a similar analytical role.

Key Accountabilities

o Provide insightful analysis to the Operations, IT and Buying divisions under the guidance and coordination of the Finance Manager. It is a flexible role intended to respond to the areas of focus that arise.

o Provide input and analytical support to all business issues and new initiatives.

o Provide input to the financial evaluation of business cases.

o Contribute to and oversee for your business areas planning, forecasting and reporting Profit/Loss and working capital metrics.

o Provides analysis as required to report, monitor and explain performance.

o Produces daily, weekly and monthly KPI's and transactional detail as required.

o Adhere to internal and external reporting deadlines.

o Other ad hoc projects as requested by the Finance Manager or Head of FP&A.

Role Requirements

Experience / Achievements

o Management accounting experience, in an industry environment preferably.

o Cashflow modelling and budget preparation experience would be an advantage.

o Strong business awareness and commercial acumen.

o Supply chain experience, working capital analysis or stock management would be beneficial in this role.

o Experience of working with non-finance business areas would be beneficial in this role

o The ability to communicate clearly and effectively at multiple levels, verbally and in writing.

o Experience of managing projects and ad hoc tasks alongside regular tasks to strict deadlines.

Skills / Knowledge

o Excellent IT Skills including advanced Excel skills (Pivot, Vlookupsetc), working experience withMicrosoft Word, Outlook and Think Cell.

o Strong analytical skills and the ability to show initiative particularly with large data sets.

o Ability to work both independently and as a team confidently.

o High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

o Enthusiastic, positive and proactive approach.

o Keen to take ownership of tasks and mentor less experienced members of the team.

o Experience of using accounting systems (SAP) would be valuable.


o Degree level - 2.1 min, preferably finance or business related.

o Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent
